Documentary Screening: Well Rounded

Presented in collaboration with the Massimadi Festival, Well Rounded, is a documentary by Shana Myara. The screening will be preceded by the short film Body Politics by Aisha Fairclough.

Well Rounded

Well Rounded starts from the understanding that being fat is ok. Blending gorgeous interviews with dreamy animation, director Shana Myara assembles personal stories from a diverse, captivating cast whose horrors, triumphs and commitment to dreaming large offer big inspiration — especially for those of us who don’t often see our BIPOC, LGB2TQ+, disabled and/or fat selves celebrated on screen.

Well Rounded, Canada, 2020, 61 min, Shana Myara. In English with French subtitles.

Body Politics

In a world preoccupied with body image, Dr. Jill Andrew, educator, activist and eccentric cat-lady turned politician, leads her fight for body justice, human rights, representation, access and equity in the legislature. Body Politics is a story in development for 40 years told through the eyes of her directing partner… Don’t blink!

Body Politics, Canada, 2021, 9 min, Aisha Fairclough. In English with French subtitles.
