Cultural objects and stories inspire exciting discussions and serve to share knowledge and experiences. After visiting an exhibition, your group will discuss historical and present-day topics. Becoming Montreal: The 1800s Painted by Duncan
On the guided tour, visitors journey into Montreal’s past as they delve into the striking watercolours of James Duncan (1806–1881). The exhibition turns a spotlight on the artist’s different gazes, which, together, provide a vivid impression of Montreal and of the realities of the people who lived there. A unique immersion into a city that’s since vanished!

Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience
This exhibition bears witness to the still unrecognized knowledge of Indigenous peoples in Québec and Canada, as well as to the deep wounds they carry and their inspiring resilience. Carefully selected objects from the Museum’s Indigenous Cultures collection are combined with powerful inspiring stories from members of Québec’s 11 Indigenous nations, shedding light on their knowledge and philosophies.

Developed in collaboration with contemporary Innu storyteller and director Donovan Vollant and Wapikoni Mobile, this workshop introduces participants to the legends of the Québec’s First Nations communities and helps gain a sense of their living story.

Developed in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, this workshop engage participants in dialogue to become more aware of Indigenous realities and identify concrete actions for reconciliation.
