TD Bank Group becomes Indigenous Cultures Programming Sponsor
Press Release
Montreal, June 3, 2026 – The Museum is proud to announce a new chapter in its collaboration with TD Bank Group, which is becoming the Indigenous Cultures Programming Sponsor for the next three years. Since 2021, TD Bank Group and the Museum have built a strong relationship, notably through TD’s support for several major exhibitions and the creation of the Curatorial Assistant, Indigenous Cultures position.
Recognizing TD’s leadership in inclusion and the potential of this collaboration, the Museum naturally invited TD to support its full slate of Indigenous cultures programming as Indigenous Cultures Programming Sponsor. TD is now the presenting sponsor of the permanent exhibition Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience. TD will also support the Museum’s broader initiatives in this area, including the exhibitions Sovereign Stitches + Wild Weaves and Carrie Allison, Artist-in-Residence (both opening in fall 2026, the latter as part of the Contemporary Native Art Biennial). TD’s support also extends to programming tied to National Indigenous History Month and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
TD’s contribution also includes funding for the development of educational, cultural and community programming focused on Indigenous cultures, while helping advance the Museum’s decolonization initiatives, including free admission for Indigenous visitors.
Finally, the Museum is pleased to announce that this support will allow for the renewal, for an additional two years, of the Curatorial Assistant, Indigenous Cultures position, which is reserved for members of recognized Indigenous communities.
“TD is continuing support for the Curatorial Assistant, Indigenous Cultures position at McCord Stewart Museum. For us, this work is about helping expand access to arts and culture, strengthening connection, and making space for more people to engage with Indigenous stories and perspectives so more communities can see themselves reflected and feel included.” – says Laurence Levy, Senior Vice-President, Branch Banking, Quebec Region, TD Bank Group
“Through this transformative three-year sponsorship, TD is giving the Museum the means to significantly expand its work toward reconciliation, one of its key strategic priorities. This support represents a meaningful commitment to promoting, sharing and deepening appreciation for Indigenous knowledge and cultures, while strengthening relationships with First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities,” said Anne Eschapasse, President and CEO of the McCord Stewart Museum.
