This annual outdoor exhibition will showcase once again the vast photographic archives of the McCord Museum. This summer, a series of glass plate photographs of Montreal taken between 1860 and 1910 will be reproduced, each one paired with an enlargement of a detail that is fascinating and revealing but would otherwise be difficult to discern. Many of these details represent people or human activity, and all will capture the imagination of the viewer with the stories they tell. This exhibition highlights the wealth of detail contained in the glass plate photographs housed in the Notman Photographic Archives.
