Salon officiel

Founded in 2026 by Tamara Rubilar and Kamil Demel, Salon Officiel is a Montreal-based textile art studio specializing in art embroidery, textile embellishment, and fine craft. At the intersection of high craftsmanship and contemporary creation, the studio develops bespoke artworks and custom projects for the fashion, arts, design, heritage, and cultural sectors, while offering professional training dedicated to the transmission of specialized textile techniques.

Driven by a commitment to advancing textile craftsmanship, Salon Officiel serves as a creative studio, research laboratory, and educational space. By preserving, reinterpreting, and evolving exceptional artisanal techniques within a contemporary practice, the studio contributes to the emergence of a new generation of artisans, artists, and designers.

Tamara Rubilar

Tamara Rubilar is a Canadian textile artist of Chilean origin whose practice is rooted in contemporary art embroidery. A graduate of the Centre des textiles contemporains de Montréal, she has continued her professional training with internationally renowned institutions, including the École Lesage in Paris, the Royal School of Needlework in London, and specialized goldwork embroidery workshops in Spain.

Her artistic practice, shaped by both North American and European influences, combines traditional craftsmanship, technical excellence, and contemporary artistic expression. She has contributed to projects for Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, while also creating works and commissioned pieces for the fashion industry, film productions, historical costume projects, and private collectors.

In 2019, she founded Studio Textile Montreal, a space for creation and transmission of textile craftsmanship. In 2026, she cofounded  Salon Officiel, a new studio specializing in art embroidery and textile embellishment that brings together contemporary creation, exceptional craftsmanship, and professional education.

Kamil Demel

Kamil Demel is a Montreal-based artist of Polish origin whose artistic journey is rooted in a tradition of technical excellence and the transmission of craftsmanship, first inspired by the creative environment of his family. After studying at Cégep Marie-Victorin, he pursued advanced training in the world of Parisian haute couture, refining his expertise through the professional program at Ecole Lesage Paris and within prestigious fine craft ateliers. This experience enabled him to master rare artisanal techniques, including artificial flower adornment, featherwork, and bespoke tailoring, which he now brings to Quebec with an uncompromising commitment to quality, precision, and craftsmanship.

The partnership between Kamil Demel and Tamara Rubilar led to the creation of Salon Officiel, a studio founded on the complementarity of their artistic backgrounds and technical expertise. Together, they develop ambitious embroidery and textile embellishment projects while establishing a high-level professional training program dedicated to preserving, advancing, and promoting these exceptional craft traditions.
