Free activity | No reservation required.

The McCord Stewart Museum and the invite you to explore the cinematographic universe of photographer and director Joannie Lafrenière for an evening of outdoor screenings.

Programming

Series of short films

  • Les danseurs d’Hochelaga
  • Vue de ruelle
  • Hochelaga, mon amour

Followed by two medium-length films

  • King Lajoie
On August 16, 1977, the life of an 18-year-old from Trois-Rivières falls apart: his idol, Elvis Presley, whom he considers to be his spiritual big brother, has just been found dead in his home in Memphis. The rest is now history, but what about the young man who grew up through the glitter of his idol? Like an offbeat musicography, King Lajoie offers a kitsch dive into the universe of Elvis Lajoie, an impersonator who shares much more than a first name with his idol.
  • La femme qui a vu l’ours
Since 1980, Lucille Côté has lived in Laterrière among a menagerie of more than 250 animals. Behind her silvery hair and her candid look, Lucille practices a profession that has long been reserved for men: taxidermy.
