Rediscover your inner child this Holiday season at the McCord Stewart Museum!
To celebrate the return of Ogilvy’s traditional mechanical Christmas windows, which have been enchanting Montrealers for over 75 years, the Museum invites you to a pyjama day filled with magic and storytelling, presented by Place Montréal Trust. Join us for a joyful day of intergenerational fun!
On Saturday, November 29, throw on your favourite pyjamas and join us from 10 a.m. for a series of free festive activities!

Everyone in pyjamas from 10 a.m.!
- Be dazzled by Ogilvy’s iconic mechanical Christmas windows: two magical scenes filled with charming characters return to the theatre (The Enchanted Village) and the alley outside the Museum (The Mill in the Forest).
- Take part in a fun Hide and Seek game.
- Follow the trail especially designed for families in On the Menu – Montreal: A Restaurant Story.
- Visit the exhibition Africa Fashion and take part in the àdìrẹ dyeing workshop.
- Go on an adventure with the exploration booklet for Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience and discover the many stories it holds. The family activity Natu-natshishkueu: The Adventure of Connection is presented by Hydro-Québec.
- Admire Pascale E. L’Italien’s snow sculptures in Museum Alley.
Workshops for every taste
- Storytime | Reservations on site. Limited seating.
In French: 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (Note that the 10:30 a.m. reading will be interpreted in sign language.)
In English: 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Recommended for children aged 2 and up.
Duration: 20 minutes - Face-painting workshop: always a hit with kids!
10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (This activity will be paused during lunch hour.) - “Àdìrẹ: Dye It Yourself” workshop
On-going from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Create paper garments inspired by this traditional Nigerian textile art.
Duration: 20 minutes
Festivities at the Café Notman and Museum Boutique
- Café Notman joins the celebration with a free hot chocolate for every child aged 15 and less (while supplies last). Families can also enjoy a kid-friendly menu sure to please even the pickiest eaters.

A Family-friendly Museum
The Museum provides a welcoming environment, and a variety of services designed to enhance the experience for families. Amenities include a snack area, a nursing room, self-service lockers, and changing tables, all readily accessible. A meal area is available from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This series of free activities is offered on Saturday November 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Complete your journey by visiting free of charge the Ogilvy’s Christmas mechanical window displays and the exhibitions on show: Africa Fashion, Aunties’ Work: The Power of Care, On the Menu – Montreal: A Restaurant Story, and Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience.
