March 11, 2015

LECTURE PRESENTED ON MARCH 11, 2015

Sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, cultural districts are distinct, colourful entities that subdivide a city and characterize its diversity. When they are “manufactured” through political will, do they provide a real cultural experience, or are they just places to consume culture? How do they affect surrounding neighbourhoods, local cultural initiatives and artists?

Moderator:

Speakers:

  • Guy Bellavance, Professor, iNrS, Centre urbanisation Culture Société
  • Alexandre Taillefer, Managing Partner, XPND Capital
  • Marie-Claude Lortie, Columnist, La Presse
