Round Table Discussion

Supporting a Loved One Who is Coming Out
As part of the exhibition JJ Levine: Queer Photographs, the Fondation Émergence and the McCord Museum invite you to attend a virtual round table discussion that will follow the launch of two new short films, Anik et Carole and Dalal et Mounir, on the subject of supporting loved ones in the process of coming out.
Revealing one’s sexual orientation or gender identity is not always easy for lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans (LGBTQ2+) people, but it can also be upsetting for their loved ones.
Learn more about coming out during a discussion with Anna Lupien, director; Bill Ryan, McGill University professor, therapist and international expert on sexual and gender diversity; and the four protagonists of the short films. The discussion will include audience participation.
