Meet with Andrée Levesque Sioui to discuss Chant(s)

The Museum and Éditions Hannenorak invite you to immerse yourself in Indigenous literature! This meeting—of the series New Chapter hosted by Samuel Rainville—encourages listening to allow you to enter Andrée Levesque Sioui literary world.

Chant(s)

Here, Wendat artist Andrée Levesque Sioui traces, from the past and present, what demands to find a voice and breath. This incarnation of song bears witness to the organic and sacred need to make visible what otherwise eludes us, to shed light on history, thought and speech.

In this work, the poet’s words travel from the skin of the body to the skin of the drum, from the bark of the tree to the great waters of memory, through the inescapable desire to speak truth.

Activity—presented as part of the exhibition Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience and the Museum’s 100th anniversaryin French followed by a discussion with the public in French and in English.
