International Symposium The Great Peace of Montréal

Organized by the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke, the McCord Stewart Museum, Pointe-à-Callière, and McGill University, the international and multidisciplinary Symposium The Great Peace of Montréal, will take place from September 17 to 19, 2026, in Montréal and Kahnawà:ke. This event brings together cultural, academic and community partners for presentations, discussions and visits.
Presented over two days, it fosters dialogue and sharing knowledge while exploring Indigenous and scholar perspectives. The program includes presentations and discussions with simultaneous interpretation in French and English, as well as visits. A pre-symposium activity day is planned for September 17, at the Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language and Cultural Center.

Admission and information
- Paid activity, from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, September 19, 2026.
- Fee: $10 per day. Reservations are required and must be made by day.
- The conferences will be held in English and French. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided on site.
