Elisabeth Starenkyj Named Chair of the McCord Stewart Museum Foundation

Montreal, October 6, 2025 – The McCord Stewart Museum Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Elisabeth Starenkyj as Chair of its Board of Trustees. As Co-President and Principal Partner of the recruitment firm La Tête Chercheuse, she will bring her energy, creativity and leadership to the Foundation—valuable assets for advancing the Museum’s mission and driving ambitious projects to success.
“I believe that culture lies at the heart of any thriving society, and that Montreal’s historical memory must be preserved, amplified and shared to foster pride and belonging. The coming years will be pivotal for the Museum, and we will be there as committed partners to support its efforts and extend its reach,” says Élisabeth Starenkyj.
The teams at the McCord Stewart Museum and its Foundation wish to express their sincere gratitude to Jean-Michel Lavoie, who served as Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees for the past five years. His unwavering commitment, rigour and strategic vision have greatly contributed to the Foundation’s success. Hi notable achievements include the creation of the Fonds du Centenaire, marking the Museum’s 100th anniversary, and his exemplary leadership during the pandemic.
Jean-Michel Lavoie will continue to serve on the Board of Trustees, where his expertise will enrich discussions and ensure a smooth transition.
