Book launch: Musée et écologie – Missions, engagements et pratiques
Free Activity | Space is limited, reservation required
In the context of today’s socio-ecological transition, museums are emerging as agents of change. Drawing on principles of social justice and activism, they are rethinking their missions and ways of working. At the same time, scientific approaches and professional guidelines are evolving. In heritage institutions, climate control practices are increasingly incorporating environmental responsibility, striving to balance conservation, sustainability and accessibility. These shifts are redefining museum practices, enriching the stories they tell and opening the door to a wider diversity of perspectives. They place citizens at the heart of the process, particularly through participatory initiatives.
To mark the publication of the landmark volume Musée et écologie – Missions, engagements et pratiques, the McCord Stewart Museum invites you to a roundtable followed by an open discussion, offering a space to deepen the conversation and explore a range of perspectives.
