This day of activities is presented in anticipation of an exceptional event, Montreal’s Bal Afrikana. Following a remarkable first edition, the Bal is coming back for a second year on June 7, 2025.

Whether you’re an artisan, a designer, a fashionista, an entrepreneur, an artist, a cultural activist or simply curious about Black cultures, come be inspired and engaged, get creative and make connections as part of this day-long celebration shimmering with elegance and rife with meaning.

The McCord Stewart Museum is delighted to be presenting these activities in connection with the upcoming Africa Fashion exhibition, running from September 25, 2025, to February 1, 2026. Spanning iconic mid-20th century to contemporary creatives through photographs, textiles, music and the visual arts, Africa Fashion will explore the vitality and global impact of a fashion scene as dynamic and varied as the continent itself.
