Nature, culture and spirituality: reflections on an ancestral link

As part of the 2024 Summer School Arts, culture, society and health by Université de Montréal

Phoudsady Vanny, artist manager for First Peoples, will host a round-table discussion featuring three speakers. They will discuss the themes of nature, culture and spirituality, exploring the reflections and ancestral links that unite them.

Discussions will highlight the unique perspectives of First Peoples, offering a rich insight into their cultural heritage and spiritual practices. This event promises to be an opportunity for learning and sharing, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of Natives traditions.

The conference debate will be followed by a networking cocktail.

  • Joséphine Bacon, poet, lyricist, storyteller, lecturer, scriptwriter, translator-interpreter and Innu filmmaker.    
  • Myriam Landry, Cultural Agent, First Nations Garden, Espace pour la vie, City of Montreal.    
  • Audrey-Lise Rock-Hervieux, land guardian and lecturer.   

Moderated by Phoudsady Vanny, artist manager, Ninan agency.
