Festival Afropolitain Nomade Concert
Paid activity | Space is limited, reservation required.
The McCord Stewart Museum, in collaboration with Festival Afropolitain Nomade, invites you to a multicultural event filled with exciting musical discoveries!
This unique concert is the result of an international residency developed through a collaboration between The Round Table on Black History Month, Festival Afropolitain Nomade and the McCord Stewart Museum, with the financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts, Canadian Heritage and the Conseil des arts de Montréal.
The creative residency will foster a personal and musical encounter between artists Anachnid (Oji-Cree Nation) and Jahelle Bonee (Côte d’Ivoire). The residency will unfold under the artistic direction of composer and arranger Fredy Massamba, who is also the Festival’s artistic director.
On February 14 and 15, 2026, these artists will present the result of their collaborative creation at the McCord Stewart Museum as part of the Black History Month programming.

Artists
Anachnid | Oji-Cree Nation, Montreal – Canada
A multidisciplinary Oji-Cree artist, Anachnid draws inspiration from her spirit animal, the spider, a symbol of multiplicity and creative strength.
Winner of the Félix Award for Indigenous Artist of the Year (2021) and the SOCAN Prize (2019), she gained widespread recognition with her album Dreamweaver (2020), longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Her hybrid sound blends electro-pop, trap, indie, soul and hip-hop, evoking dreamlike worlds and ancestral stories through rich, sensual soundscapes.
Jahelle Bonee | Côte d’Ivoire
A singer, musician and songwriter, Jahelle Bonee weaves together soul, jazz, hip-hop and Ivorian musical traditions. Active since 2014, she has released two albums, Béflèhmi (2018) and Meet My Soul (2023). Her work celebrates the strength of women and African cultural heritage while exploring themes of spirituality and inner transformation. She has performed extensively in Côte d’Ivoire and France and continues to pursue a deeply personal exploration of identity through music.
