Norman Bethune
Trail of Solidarity - La huella solidaria
This exhibition has ended.
This exhibition comprises 56 photographs and explanatory texts which detail the presence of Norman Bethune in Spain in 1937. The exhibition retraces the itinerary from Málaga to Almeria taken by Republican refugees after the terrible bombardment of Málaga by Hitler’s troops. The exhibition is divided into three parts: a biographical portrait of the Canadian surgeon; Bethune in Spain describing his work in that country and the Canadian Transfusion Services; the crime of the Málaga-Almeria chapter depicts the drama lived by the civilian population.
An exhibition from the Centro Andaluz de la Fotografía, Consejería de Cultura, Junta de Andalucía, Spain, produced by the McCord Museum, Montréal, Quebec, for its presentation in Canada.
