Behind every donation, a story comes to life

You are helping us present exhibitions that reflect Montreal’s identity

You help bring to life exhibitions that capture the evolution of tastes, neighbourhoods and communities that have shaped the city, such as On the Menu – Montreal: A Restaurant Story (on view from November 26).

It traces the evolution of local restaurants—from popular delis to fine dining establishments—and reveals how the city’s identity has been built around culinary culture.

Discover the Archives collection that tells Montreal’s story

Held in the Museum’s Archives collection, this menu from Café Martin reflects its period and culinary refinement. It will be featured in the exhibition On the Menu – Montreal: A Restaurant Story, providing a delicious glimpse at Montreal’s culinary history.

Among the Museum’s vast collections, the Archives collection covers the entire history of Canada, but focusses more particularly on that of Montreal and Montrealers during the 19th and 20th centuries.
