Join us on September 25 for an exclusive event at the McCord Stewart Museum during Montreal Fashion Week 2025!
Be one of the first to visit the exhibition Africa Fashion, from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, in its only Canadian showing –a unique opportunity for fans of fashion and African cultures to celebrate the creativity, influence and richness of the African continent through fashion.
Experience the creativity of six local designers at a dazzling fashion show presented by the Centre culturel afro-canadien de Montréal (CCAM) , with Bal Afrikana’s head stylist Mlle Geri.
With the participation of special guest stylist @Sheyumboe.
Program
- 5:30 p.m. – Doors open for Africa Fashion, an exclusive Canadian showing
- 7:00 p.m. – Event begins
- 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. – Fashion show organized by the CCAM
Discover 15 stunning looks by six local designers, originally unveiled at Bal Afrikana. - Ongoing during the evening
Hands-on àdìrẹ workshop – Learn this traditional Nigerian textile dyeing technique

Live hair-sculpting performance by Nadiska
Presentation of four creations by student and graduates from LaSalle College, a member of the LCI Education network

LaSalle College is proud to celebrate the unveiling of the new Africa Fashion exhibition at the McCord Stewart Museum by showcasing the creations of its students and alumni, who each magnify African style and heritage in their own unique way through contemporary fashion.

Africa Fashion
From the turn of the 1960s to today, the exhibition features fashion and accessories, jewellery, textiles, photographs, music and art that together bear witness to both the foundational role that textiles, clothing and body adornment have played in African cultures, and how fashion became a powerful force for post-colonial self-expression, drawing international attention for its limitless creativity, just like Africa itself.
Created by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London – touring the world.

Indigenous Fashion Collective, 2nd Edition
Collectif Autochtone—a group of eight Indigenous designers from Quebec—is returning to Montreal Fashion Week. The collective aims to spotlight the work of First Nations creators and, most importantly, celebrate the richness and creativity of their cultures through fashion, from clothing and jewellery to footwear and accessories.
On the program: Fashion show, 100% Indigenous pop-up market, party with DJ Atamon, bar ($) and the exhibitions Indigenous Voices of Today: Knowledge, Trauma, Resilience and Africa Fashion will be open to the public.
