Montreal neighbourhoods were transformed during a surge of modernism in the 1970s as old buildings were demolished to make way for concrete high rises. That was the fate awaiting the charming Milton Park neighbourhood, commonly knowns as the McGill Ghetto<\/em>, until a strong citizens’ movement began fighting to save it. This guided tour sheds light on Milton Park’s architectural heritage, the battles waged by citizens to preserve their unique neighbourhood and the different ways ils buildings have been used over time.<\/p>\n

  • Three possible dates to facilitate the reservation process;<\/li>\n
  • Preferred time for your tour, the number of people in your group and the language in which you would like the tour to be conducted;<\/li>\n
  • Complete contact information for your organization, including email address to enable us to send you a tour confirmation notice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    After making your reservation, you will receive\u00a0confirmation by email. Please acknowledge receipt\u00a0to confirm the time of your visit.<\/p>\n

    For CEGEP or university groups, please plan one group\u00a0leader for every 15 students; admission is free for the
    \ngroup leader.<\/p>\n

    The minimum rate for 15 people will be charged for\u00a0groups of fewer than 15 people.<\/p>\n

    CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS<\/h4>\n

    Unless you notify us of changes 48 hours before the\u00a0date of your activity, you will be charged for the number\u00a0of participants indicated in your reservation.<\/p>\n

    METHOD OF PAYMENT<\/h4>\n

    On the day of the activity, the person responsible\u00a0for the group is asked to proceed to the admissions\u00a0desk to settle payment. The total amount may be paid\u00a0via invoice or on site via cash or cheque. Please make\u00a0your cheque payable to the McCord Museum.<\/p>\n
