Any personal information gathered through “Keys to History – My McCord” about Contributing Users is not provided to third parties. You will not receive any emails you have not requested and you may update or cease to use your account at any time. Comments regarding this policy may be submitted via the Website’s Feedback
Account registration information
“Keys to History – My McCord” collects personal information when a person first registers to use the Website. As part of the registration process, a potential user is asked to provide information of a personal nature, including a screen name and email address. This information is used for the following purposes:
- Identification and authentication;
- Service provision and improvements; and
- Research, reporting and future contact (if requested).
A Contributing User of the Website can cease to use his/her account at any time; however, his/her account information will remain active and accessible, as will any content he/she has contributed, since it may have been incorporated by other Contributing Users into various exhibitions and/or connections. Since all user profiles remain active and accessible, regardless of their use, Contributing Users who choose to cease using the Website can modify the information contained within their accounts at their discretion.
Information concerning the use of “Keys to History – My McCord” is gathered through “traffic data” captured in standard web logs and through feedback. The personal information gathered as a result of using “Keys to History – My McCord” will not be sold, traded and/or rented to others. From time to time aggregate statistics about online visitors, traffic pattern and related site information may be provided to a third party, but these statistics will not include any personal information. However, account information may be released as required by law.
Use of site by children
Parents, guardians and teachers are encouraged to spend time online with children and to participate in the activities made available through this Website. No content and/or information, especially content and/or information of a personal nature, should be submitted, posted and/or published by children 12 years of age or younger without the consent and involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher.
